Pleasant Hill Cemetery; an iconic church, and a historic 300-year-old tree

Docents will share the story of Pleasant Hill Cemetery c.1896, one of more than seventy burial grounds in the City of Atlanta on less than an acre, the adjacent church, a rare extant example of Southern vernacular architecture built c. 1890 and the Post Oak tree in front which dates to 1730 +/- 10 years and is documented as one of the oldest trees in Atlanta. The property was transferred in the 1821 Treaty of Indian Springs to the United States by the Creek Nation.
